Idol Ignites PSD Voices

November 30 - Finalists showcase their beautiful voices and passion for music as they participate in the noble project of the PSD Board of Directors, the PSD Idol Grand Finals, held in the EVB Gymnasium. The event had two junctions - the first sect was for the Primary and Intermediate Finalists, while the second junction was for the Junior and Senior High School Finalists.
The program started with a Doxology to offer praise and glory to the Lord Almighty. It was followed by the singing of the Qatar and Philippine National Anthems. The PTA Board of Directors President, Mr. Delphin Montenegro, the man behind the PSD Idol Event, then welcomed the PSDian crowd to its 5th Season. He reminded the PSDian crowd that the money collected by this event would be used to fund the projects of the PSD PTA BOD, which aims to help our less fortunate countrymen. An Opening Number by the PSD BOD Officers and Teacher Representatives followed his remarkable speech. Dr. Alexander S. Acosta delivered an inspiring message to the PSDian crowd, saying that all the projects of the PSD BOD is for the students and that he hopes that one day, a PSDian may be able to compete in competitions such as the Tawag ng Tanghalan in Showtime and other international competitions.
The Primary and Intermediate Finalists were introduced along with the judges for the first sect - Ms. Genalyn Garcia, Mr. Moises Lavalle, and Mr. Janbeth Alindog. The mechanics and criteria for judging were presented - 60% for the judges' choice and 40% for the voters' choice - 1 Qatari Riyal is equivalent to 1 vote, - garnering a total of 100%.
The Primary Finalists were the first to present their chosen pieces. Andrea Marie Talamante sang Thousand Years, Reyn Victor Balintona sang Perfect, Sean Gabriel Arellanao sang My Heart Will Go On, Zoe Faith Pajarillo sang How Far I Go, Travis Louie Montenegro sang True Colors, Lynz Keith Marquez sang Girl on Fire, Bryce Chloe Camson sang Win the Fight, Renier Virdi sang Skyfall, and Amber Candy Sainz sang Never Enough.
After all the Primary Finalists had presented their chosen pieces, the audience was given 5 minutes to vote for their favorite Primary Finalists. After the 5 minutes, the final counting of votes was conducted backstage while special performances from the judges, Mr. Alindog and Ms. Genalyn Garcia, and the HIYAW Dance Ensemble were presented onstage.
The Intermediate Finalists were next to take the stage. Noor Janna Kapunan sang Sad Song, Rheeza Ryce Roldan sang All of Me, Fretz Justine Dones sang Kailangan ko Ikaw, and Ram Anthony Medalle sang Thinking Out Loud
After all the Intermediate Finalists had presented their chosen pieces, the audience was given 5 minutes to vote for their favorite Intermediate Finalists. After the 5 minutes, the final counting of votes was conducted backstage while special performances from Yara Fabricante, proud PSDian parents BigBone and ESDK, and judge, Mr. Moises Lavalle, were presented onstage.

Ms. Tolentino, the PSD BOD Officer-in-charge of the PSD Idol event, delivered her Vote of Thanks to gratify the sponsors and people who made the event possible. Afterwards, the Finalists were called onstage to be awarded their certificates of participation. They were also reminded that all of them were winners and that the competition was a friendly one. The awardees were recognized and are listed as follows:

The first program had ended and a hiatus of the program commenced for the the crowd to have their lunch.

Catching up to his breath, Dr. Alexander Acosta delivered another inspirational message and deliberated his hopes for the future of the PSDian performers that they may grow to become competitors in international competitions.
The Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS) Finalists were introduced along with the judges for the second sect - Mr. Jonald Aranez Roxas, Mr. John Milky Del Rosario, and Ms. Ayen Olanan.
The mechanics and criteria for judging were presented - 60% for the judges' choice and 40% for the voters' choice - 1 Qatari Riyal is equivalent to 1 vote, - garnering a total of 100%.
The JHS Finalists presented their chosen pieces. Jenella Aj Abrao sang Tell Me You Love Me, Issabella Rain Enad sang You Are the Reason, Rayver Ruan Tingchuy sang Little Things, Aya Mikhaela Lyn Lubon sang Like the First Snow, I Will Go to You, Angela Armamento sang Make You Feel My Love, Tristan Mar Awit sang I Surrender, and Angela Nina Aldover sang I'll Never Love Again.
After all the JHS Finalists had presented their chosen pieces, the audience was given 5 minutes to vote for their favorite JHS Finalists. After the 5 minutes, the final counting of votes was conducted backstage while a special performance from judge, Ms. Ayen Ulanan, was presented onstage.
The SHS Candidates took the stage as they were introduced and performed an opening act for their voices to be heard. The Hiyaw Dance Ensemble performed a special number to entertain the audience while the Finalists prepare themselves. Charles Eljohn Dandan sang Domino, Lorde Cedric Tolentino sang Beautiful Girl, Kim Kyle Stephanie Parales sang Warrior, Beatrice Ysabela Hubalde sang If I Ain't Got You, Dianne Grace Bautista sang Hero, Xerina Ira Riela Ochoada sang Can't Take My Eyes off You, Miko Denise Katipunan sang Cancer, Lorenzo Amari Inciong sang Let Her Go, Eunice Guites sang My Heart Will Go On, Christenzen Marinelle Magadia sang Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin, Xandre Immanuel Acosta sang Once There Was a Love, Ysabelle Martha Dometita sang I Dreamed a Dream, Demi Chrissa Marie Cadelinia sang Hurt, Lovely Guites sang Love Song, Jan Ericka Mari Castro sang Oo, Miaca Ana Marie Balgoma sang Is That Alright?, Reem Darwiche sang Sway, and Edreign Pete Magdael sang Rude
After all the SHS Finalists had presented their chosen pieces, the audience was given 5 minutes to vote for their favorite SHS Finalists. After the 5 minutes, the final counting of votes was conducted backstage while special performances from proud PSDian Alumni, Raffy Vital Gimeno, Yara Fabricante, and BigBone and ESDK were presented onstage.
Ms. Tolentino, the PSD BOD Officer-in-charge of the PSD Idol event, once again delivered her Vote of Thanks to gratify the sponsors and people who made the event possible. Afterwards, the Finalists were called onstage to be awarded their certificates of participation. They were also reminded that all of them were winners and that the competition was a friendly one. The event was truly a success as seen on the smile on everyone's faces, and it's all thanks to the support of PSD Board of Directors, Teachers-in-charge, students, and supportive parents.
