RDAPO Exhibits Global Innovation

February 27 - PSDians gather in the Edgar V. Bondoc (EVB) Gymnasium to witness the celebration of the Research Fair 2019 with the theme: "Research & Development: The Pillars of Cutting Edge Innovation in the Global Arena". The program started with a doxology by the class 7-Galilei to praise the Lord and bless the event for it to succeed and bear fruit. This was followed by the Qatar and Philippine National Anthem and Dr. Alexander S, Acosta's Opening Remarks. He spoke of research and its relevance to the modern world society that it is indeed the generation's comforts and we should be thankful for the researchers' dedication to better everyone's quality lifestyle.
Moreover, the intermission performances by the class 9-Curie and UDB 1st Runner-Up Bes Crew hyped the mood in the venue as the crowd cheers for their splendid performances. The Mechanics and Judges were presented by Dr. Julie Ann Real and Dr. Anita Cervales respectively. Beautiful exhibits display the outputs of the students. Selected groups compete for the Best Tri-Fold Display. Three groups from the Grade 6 level were selected to present their study beforehand on January 26, Tuesday. Three groups were selected to present their experimental study from the Grade 10 level. Six Groups were selected to present their descriptive study from the Grade 8 and Grade 10 level.
Video presentations of the studies conducted by the Grade 6 researchers were shown on-screen which enlightened the crowd of their discoveries. The Grade 10 Experimental groups were first to present their studies to the panel, namely: Dr. Don John Vallesteros, Dr. Noemi Formaran, and Dr. Rowena Sagayadoro. The first study was entitled A Comparative Study Between Coconut Shells and Banana Peels As a Raw Material for Activated Carbon to be Utilized in Water Filtration System, followed by The Feasibility of Using Piezoelectric Board in Creating an Electrical Generator in Wide Scale and The Antimicrobial Property of Papyrus Leaves and Roots Extract and its Synergetic Effect in Inhibiting Bacterial Growth.
The Grade 8 Descriptive groups were next to present their studies to a new set of panel, namely: Dr. Nida Garcia, Dr. Wilgie Mae Serna, and Mr. Mike Saratan. The first study was entitled The Perception of the Junior High School Students of Philippine School Doha Towards the Romanticism of Mental Illness followed by The Implementation of "No Assignment Policy" and its Perceived Effects to the Academic Performance of the Junior High School Students of Philippine School Doha, S.Y. 2018-2019 and The Perceived Effects of Verbal Abuse to the Social Behavior of the JHS Students of PSD, S.Y. 2018-2019.
The Grade 10 Descriptive Groups were last to present their studies to the same panel. The first study was entitled The Perceived Level of Awareness of PSD Community on the Rising Prevalence of Diabetes in Qatar, followed by Temperature Warming: Its Impact to the Involvement in Extracurricular Outdoor Sports Activities of Selected Junior High School Students in PSD and The Different Coping Mechanisms of Selected Junior High School Students of PSD to Perceived Expectations Labeled to Them.

The program ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Lorina Villanueva and a Closing Prayer by Jamie Sison to praise God for the successful event.
